How to use Wet Wash Mop

Wet wash tall vehicles from the ground with the 10" Wet or Waterless Mop.

  • 3 products needed

The 10” Wet or Waterless Mop does both: a traditional wet wash with shampoo, or a waterless wash with Wash Wax ALL. For waterless steps, see How to Use the Wash Wax Mop.

Wet wash steps

  1. Rinse. Rinse the vehicle to remove loose dirt.
  2. Mix. Mix 1–3 oz. of shampoo per gallon of water in a bucket (3 capfuls = 1 oz.), then spray water into the bucket to make a thick foam. You can also apply shampoo with a foam gun.
  3. Apply. Apply the shampoo and water mix to the vehicle with the Mop.
  4. Rinse. Rinse before the shampoo mix dries.
  5. Dry. Dry the vehicle before it dries on its own.

Wax as you dry

Spray Wash Wax ALL directly onto the surface while drying the wet vehicle. It works after a full wet wash or a simple water rinse, and cleans and protects in one step with no separate soap or wax.

Good to know

  • Clean from the top down, starting at the highest point.
  • Dry the vehicle before it air-dries, and use soft water when available to help prevent water spots.
  • Clean the windows last. Put two fresh, clean pads on the Mop before cleaning windows.
  • Machine wash and dry the pads and towels regularly, and store them in a sealed container or bag. Don't use fabric softener; it damages microfiber and causes streaking.
  • Tighten the pivot wingnut with pliers so the Mop has some resistance and doesn't pivot too freely.
  • The tilt lock-out screw comes installed. Use the Mop in this fixed position until you're comfortable with it. To unlock tilting, remove the screw and store it in the lower hole below the original spot, then adjust the tilt friction nut with a 7/16” wrench.
  • Tilting needs a push-button extension pole. Twist-lock poles aren't compatible, because twisting to steer can loosen the pole.
  • Warning: don't use the Mop from a ladder. You can't keep three points of contact and risk a fall. The Mop is designed so you don't need a ladder.
